Our solar system will have 12 planets
instead of nine under a proposed " Big –Bang" expansion
by leading astronomers. The planets in our solar system listed in
order of their proximity to the sun would be Mercury, Venus, Earth,
Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Charon and
the provisionally named 2003 UB313.
This discovery of new planets has
puzzled many astrologers across the world whether they will change
the course of individual's destiny. Some astrologers are trying
to make parallel between the old & the new planets. But this
discovery will not make any difference in the Hindu astrology to
any individual in any way. In fact, Hindu astrology is the only
authentic way to pin-point one's future. Other methods are neither
globally valid and even if they are, they are not accurate.
The Hindu astrology is not based
on solar signs but on nakshatras. The Hindus have another division
of the Zodiac signs . In this system, the entire Zodiac is divided
into 27 nakshatras. These nakshatras have further divisons in four
parts. Effects on a native born on a particular nakshatra &
in a particular divison of the same nakshatra are, so apt and revealing
that they provide specific predictions of an individual with fair
degree of accuracy. There are 12 signs in the Solar system of 12
months in a calendar year based on planets. According to this system,
all the individuals born under a particular sign have the same future.
But this is not possible and correct. Even twins born within a few
minutes of difference in the time of their birth have different
future and destiny.
The Hindu astrology is based on
the specific time of birth. This time is specific for an individual.
Vedic astrology has not gone beyond Saturn. Even Uranus, Neptune
and Pluto aren't counted in the Vedic astrology Though one of the
new 'planets', Ceres, lies between Mars and Jupiter, its unlikely
to be counted for predictions in Hindu astrology. Only the time
of their birth is important.
But noted Indian astrologer Bejan
Daruwalla was quick to say, "We are ruled by a combination
of planets which is why it is exciting and makes almost impossible
to predict. But if these new discoveries are included in the Solar
system, I will accommodate them."
Good for all. But we assert that
the new discovery will not affect the Hindu way of predicting future
because they have only been discovered now by the scientists. They
existed before and the Hindu astronomers knew about them when they
wrote their scripts thousands and thousands of years ago. Therefore,
the new discoveries can help break other mysteries. Not change the
course of predicting destiny.
